Description:
The Rotary Potentiometer Analog Knob Module is a simple yet essential input device used to provide analog control signals in electronics projects. It works by changing resistance as the knob is rotated, and outputs a variable voltage level (typically 0V to 5V or 0V to 3.3V) corresponding to the rotation angle. This analog output can be read by any microcontroller with an ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) pin.
The module typically includes a 10KΩ linear potentiometer mounted on a breakout board for easy interfacing. It comes pre-soldered with 3 pins: VCC, GND, and Analog Out (A0). Turning the knob clockwise or counterclockwise adjusts the voltage output, making it perfect for applications such as volume controls, sensor calibration, brightness adjustments, motor speed control, and more.
Unlike a rotary encoder, this module does not count steps or direction — it provides a continuous, smooth analog signal, not discrete pulses.
