Description:
The MPR121 Breakout V12 is a compact capacitive touch sensing controller module based on the MPR121 IC from NXP. It can detect up to 12 independent capacitive touch inputs through conductive pads or wires and communicates with microcontrollers via the I2C protocol. This makes it ideal for building touch-based user interfaces, such as keyboards, sliders, control panels, and interactive surfaces.
Each of the 12 electrode inputs can independently detect a finger touch, and the module provides touch and release event signals for each channel. It includes features like auto-calibration, debounce settings, and configurable sensitivity thresholds, making it versatile and robust for various touch sensing applications.
Thanks to its I2C interface, it works seamlessly with platforms like ESP32, Pi, STM32, and others. It is often used in DIY electronics, musical instruments, wearables, and human-machine interface projects.
